EAISI AIMM Lab

The EAISI AI-enabled Manufacturing and Maintenance (AIMM) Lab is a collaboration between Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), KMWE, Lely, Marel and Nexperia. The labs goal is to improve decision making in manufacturing and maintenance using artificial intelligence. AIMM Lab is based in Eindhoven.

AIMM Lab is established by the Eindhoven Artificial Intelligence Systems Institute (EAISI) to promote AI research in cooperation with industry. Their aim is to establish a much stronger role for AI in the Dutch economy and to present opportunities for new ideas in the manufacturing area to be introduced to industry more rapidly. The four industrial partners Nexperia, KMWE, Marel and Lely have a solid history of commitment to developing new innovative approaches in their respective industries.

Seven PhD research positions will perform joint research at the business partners and the TU/e. The areas of research of AIMM Lab will directly interface with topics such as Autonomous Agents & Robotics, Computer Vision, Decision Making, Information Retrieval, Knowledge Representation & Reasoning, Neuro-linguistic Programming and Machine Learning.

Within the lab, the industry partners and the TU/e will jointly develop research proposals with companies from the region. The result will be a structured partnership with a strong vision and new roadmaps for AI in manufacturing and maintenance. Through the AIMM lab, AI will be able to work in close concert with operatives, engineers and managers.
