RAIL
RAIL: Responsible Decision Support for Efficient and Dynamic Railway Systems
The RAIL Lab is a research lab dedicated to developing AI technology to increase the overall logistic rail capacity. The lab works towards algorithmic support to ensure safe and reliable logistic operations and capacity planning that is trusted by human experts. The lab‘s research goal is to tackle long–term challenges related to the dynamic management of transport demand on railway nodes, with the aim of responding quickly and adequately to changing circumstances.

TROIKA – Trustworthy Collaborative Knowledge Accelerator
The TROIKA Lab is a research lab that seeks to extend and enhance state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods for semantic knowledge engineering, human-centered AI, and crowd computing to develop the TRustworthy cOllaboratIve Knowledge Accelerator (TROIKA). The lab is a collaboration between the Delft University of Technology, Maastricht University, Biomax Informatics AG, and Royal DSM.

The AI-FAIR Lab is focused on improving the completeness, generalization, explainability, and deployability of deep data-driven methods for automotive imaging radar processing, with a primary use case of collision risk prediction with vulnerable road users. The AI-FAIR Lab is a collaboration between the Eindhoven University of Technology, NXP Semiconductors, and NLAIC.

Responsible Media Lab
REM – Responsible Media Lab
The REM Lab is researching the use of AI in the media industry to develop transparent and explainable AI systems, investigate the value of actions and predictions across media platforms, and create methods for automatically generating content to support independent and transparent news and media organizations in the Netherlands. REM Lab is a collaboration between DPG Media, the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science, and the University of Amsterdam.

ICAI Stroke Lab: From 112 to Rehabilitation
STROKE Lab focuses on improving the outcome of stroke patients by developing AI-based models for various stages in the patient journey and assessing these models for clinical practice. The lab is a collaboration between Erasmus MC and the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, who bring in clinical domain and academic expertise, and Philips interested in the development of products for clinical decision support.

AI for Energy Grids Lab
The AI for Energy Grids Lab is focused on developing methods and tools that use grid data to improve the efficiency, sustainability, and reliability of the medium-low voltage grid. It combines the expertise of Alliander data scientists, electrical engineers, and the latest digitalization programs for grid data, with academic expertise on methods from artificial intelligence. The lab’s collaboration network includes all Dutch Distribution system operators, as well as academic institutions such as Delft University of Technology, Radboud University, and the University of Twente.

CARA Lab -- Cardiology Lab with Abbott, Radboudumc, and AmsterdamUMC
CARA Lab researches automated segmentation and characterization of intravascular structures and lesions, optimizing OCT-based algorithms to assess physiologic characteristics, high-risk plaque identification, and predicting stent-related complications, with the goal of increasing the usability, reliability, and applicability of intravascular OCT in interventional cardiology through the use of trustworthy AI. The lab is a collaboration between Abbott, Radboud University Medical Center, and Amsterdam University Medical Center.

FEPLab - Free Energy Principle Lab
The FEPlab (Free Energy Principle Laboratory) is a collaboration between Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and GN Hearing. The mission of the lab is to ameliorate the participation of hearing-impaired people in formal and informal social settings. The lab will focus its research on transferring a leading physics/neuroscience-based theory about computation in the brain, the Free Energy Principle (FEP), to practical use in human-centered agents such as hearing devices and VR technology.
