Use of Data in the Research

Research is done together with input from the companies, but students should always be able to share the results, which means they should not be dependent on the data of the company to be able to conduct the research. Be sure that the PhD student can always publish on open data, either already available or made available from the company. The latter rarely happens, so we advise to always use available open data.

Next to the open data, it is possible to also test, experiment and build proofs of concept on the data of the company. We advise doing this on their systems and in their environment. This is to avoid the transfer of data, and to keep the data secure on the requirements of the company.
