Join the event now!

The EU Climate Law targets climate neutrality by 2050, while the Knowledge Economy is crucial to EU prosperity. In this seminar, Dr. Oprescu will discuss research on the energy footprint of software services in two areas: privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) and software development. She will present results from several projects that investigated the energy cost and data utility of PETs, as well as ongoing research into energy efficient LLM-based generation of energy efficient code.

Why attend? Get insights into:

  • The role of the energy footprint of software services in the context of EU climate neutrality targets and the Knowledge Economy.
  • Research on the energy cost and data utility of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs).
  • Ongoing work on LLM-based generation of energy efficient code.

Dr. Oprescu’s research focuses on understanding the complexity of modern digital services and systems in order to build responsible software. She coordinates the Software Systems Learning Trajectory in the Informatica Bachelor and is Program Director for the Software Engineering and System and Network Engineering master programs. She has participated in several European projects (including XtreemOS, Contrail, 3COWS, and VISION) and has published more than 60 articles in international conferences and journals.
